Pink Loafers…

Happy Thursday! How is everyone’s week so far? It’s been a whirlwind for us… the next few weeks are super busy. This weekend we are headed to the Foxfield Races in Charlottesville where I’ll be partnering up with Lauren James and wearing one of their stunning dresses to the event. I’ll be at their  tent, so be sure to stop by and say hi and check out some of their latest pieces for spring and summer! They are all absolutely gorgeous and i’m seriously sooooo excited to wear my dress this weekend! I’ll have a full look at the event and the dress I’m wearing on the blog next week.

I’m also headed to the Create Cultivate Conference in NYC the weekend of May 5th. I can’t wait to connect with other bloggers and meet some of the industry’s finest. I have been looking forward to going since I registered way back in February!

My look for today is super comfy and casual. Last week, I saw that a few other bloggers had partnered with DSW on their Katie and Kelly line. I hadn’t heard of it before. They had all showcased these light pink loafers that I’m wearing- and with good reason! I was so excited to see these at an affordable price! I had been lusting after the M.Gemi version for a while now, and I just couldn’t justify the purchase since I don’t wear flats very often. These pretty little things are less than $40 and worth every cent. They are super comfortable and the perfect shade of pink. I can’t wait to wear them with skirts and even shorts too this Summer. Just a note on my jeans since you all have seen these a few times- my exact pair is sold out, but I’ve linked some similar pairs below. I love the Levi’s option as they are very price friendly.

Hope everyone you’re having a great week so far…it’s almost Fri-yay 🙂

Spring Yellow…

Yellow is definitely on trend for this season and I’m loving it! I found this yellow ruffle sleeve dress at Zara and it checked a few boxes for me… color- check, price- check, ruffles (I know insert eye roll emoji here)- check. I am also a total offender of only buying dresses in black and white. Does anyone else do that? I’m not really sure why, but I needed to break the color mold with this one. This dress looks great with heels, but could also be worn with sandals, flats or even sneakers if you’re feeling tom boyish on the weekends 🙂

My exact dress has sold out so I’ve linked a few other similar options below from Zara. They have so many great new arrivals that are totally worth checking out. Hope you all are having a great week so far!!

Jean Skirts and Ruffles…

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend despite the dreary weather that we had here in Richmond. When we shot these photos on Saturday morning, it was SO humid. My hair is a wreck (please give me a free pass on that ;))! If we had just waited another few hours, it would have been 15 degrees cooler! Oh well, it was just a preview of what’s to come this summer for all of our shoots 🙂

On to today’s post…I haven’t worn a jean skirt since I was in high school and that was never mind how many years ago. I have been seeing the jean skirt make a come back over the last few months and debated whether or not my 30 something self could pull it off. I decided to try one on at J.Crew last week and loved the one I’m wearing in my photos. It’s high waisted with a loser fit around the hips and thighs, so it’s super flattering on all body types. I would definitely recommend trying this on before purchasing, if you can. It runs really big. I normally wear a size 27 in my jeans and shorts, but needed a 25 in this skirt. I read the reviews online (which I typically always do these days as it helps me decide if I need to go to the store before purchasing something online) and everyone that took time to review the skirt mentioned that it ran really large as well.

My top is Zara and I’m in love! You can’t beat this fabric on this piece for the price. It’s under $50 and the ruffles are perfect. I will be wearing this top later this week with different bottoms, so stay tuned to my daily instagram looks.

Lastly- I wanted to call out that my Tory Burch mules, which I have worn several times since purchasing them a few weeks ago, are now 20% off on toryburch.com. The spring event is happening now so if you’ve been lusting over anything, now is the time to buy especially since the sale ends today.

This post is getting lengthy, but one last thing I wanted to mention- this week is RVA fashion week, so if you are local to Richmond- check out some of the events that are happening at http://www.rvafashionweek.com/events/ and get out to see and support some great local retailers and designers.

Have a great start to your week!

Tory Burch Mules…

I have been on the hunt for the perfect mule over the last few weeks. I ordered a few pairs and ended up returning them because I just didn’t like the way they looked on my feet or the heels just weren’t right. I found these beauties on Tory Burch’s website and I immediately fell in love. I debated for a few days because the price point is a little higher than what I was looking to spend, but I thought about all of the different things in my closet that would work with these and promised myself that I would wear them all summer long to justify the cost. I love all of the different colors and the fact they can go with whites, blues, greens, denims and the list goes on! They are also super cute for work and play. Are you guys buying into the mule trend this season? What are some of your favorites?

Back Patio Refresh…

Today I’m super excited to share some photos of our back patio update with you all. We have been in our new home now for just over a year and this was the last space that we had to complete. We looked at a few different options for this space, but finally settled on a fire pit and some comfy lounge furniture. I wanted the space to look chic, but have a cozy feel where we could relax and watch Harrison run around the backyard. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little nervous about the white cushions, but they look so pretty (for the moment)!

I looked at a lot of different places for our new furniture… Shopping for furniture, whether indoor or outdoor can be super stressful. When we were building our home, I looked often on Joss & Main for different ideas. I have always been impressed with their selection, price points and overall quality. It was no surprise that we landed on some of their pieces for our newly furnished space. I was also able to find these really cute topiaries through At Home. We have one here in Richmond and their selection of home decor is huge. If you’re here in the area, it’s totally worth checking out! I had purchased our front porch topiaries from them when we first moved in, so I knew I’d be able to find the perfect ones to complete the back patio there as well. Lastly, our fire pit and garden stool are from Lowe’s. We debated doing a stone pit, but I really liked the look and ease of assembly of this one. It took Dave a short 20 minutes to assemble. I also included some photos of our flower and mulch update. Last Thursday, Dave and I took the day off to work on the yard and flowers while Harrison was at school. Admittedly, Dave did most of the work 🙂

What do you guys think of the overall look? What’s your favorite place to shop for new furniture? I’d love any and all recommendations!

Easter Sunday Attire…

Happy Monday, y’all! This weekend went by so fast… we had lots of fun plans with friends and lots of Easter activities with Harrison, including his first Easter Egg Hunt. He definitely took the catch and release tactic when it came to the eggs… He’d pick a few up and then throw them back out for his friends to find… too cute!

I wore this look for Easter Sunday yesterday and got so many questions on my blazer and dress. I have loved Lilly Pulitzer for a long time, and every so often, I’ll invest in another one of her pieces. Her swing dresses are probably my favorite style that she makes. I love how comfortable they are, but they look really dressy. The one that I’m wearing is actually last season, but I linked a few similar styles below. You can’t go wrong with any of her patterns- they are all super fun.

Stay tuned to the blog- later this week I’ll be sharing my first home decor post and sharing our new back patio set up! Can’t wait to show you guys how it turned out!

Have a great start to your week and thanks for stopping by!
